Square graphite crucible and maintenance tips

Square graphite crucibles are processed from square graphite blocks. Graphite block can be formed by molding process, vibration forming process or isostatic pressing.

Graphite crucible has excellent performance, and has a small coefficient of thermal expansion during high temperature use, and has certain strain resistance to rapid cooling and rapid heating, so it is widely used in the smelting of alloy tool steel and the smelting of non-ferrous metals and their alloys. Generally,  graphite crucibles can be used to smelt non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass, gold, silver, zinc and lead and their alloys. The inner wall of the graphite crucible is smooth, and the melted metal liquid is not easy to leak and adhere to the inner wall of the crucible, so that the metal liquid has good fluidity and castability. It is suitable for casting and forming of various molds.

Precautions for use and maintenance of graphite crucible

Graphite crucibles are very convenient for smelting cast metals and alloys, but some precautions should be taken when using them:

1. Slowly bake it to 500 degrees Celsius before use.

2. When melting metal, it should be filled according to the capacity of the graphite crucible, so that the crucible will not be squeezed too tightly to avoid thermal expansion and cracking of the crucible.

3. When taking out the molten metal, it is best to scoop out the molten metal with a spoon and use calipers as little as possible. If you use calipers and other tools, it should conform to the shape of the crucible to avoid excessive local force, shortening the service life.

4. When in use, avoid direct spraying of strong oxidizing flames on the crucible, which will shorten the life of the crucible raw materials.

5. Put it in a dry place after use, and do not let rainwater intrude. The graphite crucible is most afraid of moisture, which will have a great impact on the quality.
